Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently conducted a draw under the Express Entry system, issuing 1,250 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for candidates within the trade occupations category.

To be eligible for consideration in this draw, candidates had to meet the following criteria:

  1. Minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: Candidates were required to have a minimum CRS score of 505. The CRS is a points-based system used to assess and score candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and proficiency in official languages.
  2. Express Entry Profile: Candidates must have created an Express Entry profile prior to 10:36 p.m. (UTC) on November 5, 2025. This ensures that their profiles were in the pool and eligible for the draw.

This draw is part of the Canadian government’s ongoing efforts to manage immigration levels and select skilled individuals who can contribute to Canada’s economy, especially in essential trade occupations.

The Express Entry system is the primary pathway for managing applications for three key immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program
  • Canadian Experience Class

By issuing ITAs to candidates in the trade occupations category, Canada continues to prioritize skilled trade workers who are in high demand in the labor market. Candidates who receive an ITA will have 60 days to submit their permanent residence application.

This move is aligned with Canada’s immigration goals of attracting individuals who can support the country’s economic growth and meet the needs of the labor market, particularly in technical and trade sectors.
